Interstate 70 has been cleared and traffic is back to normal after two multiple vehicle accidents between Wright City and Warrenton near Stracks Church Road. Chief Mike Owenby with the Warren County Fire Protection District said everyone involved is fine; no one from the two accident scenes required ambulance services. Emergency crews were called to respond to the first accident at 10:07 a.m. at the 196.8 mile marker. Owenby said traffic in the westbound lanes was slowing down due to a stalled car on the interstate. The driver of one car did not slow down and consequencely hit the car in front of it. About ten minutes later, Owenby said, crews responded to a four-car accident in the eastbound lanes near the first accident. Owenby said it was caused when eastbound drivers had slowed down to look at the first accident. The slow down caused a series of rear-end collisions._____________Previous Story:Multiple accidents have been reported Wednesday before 11am on both westbound and eastbound Interstate 70 near Stracks Church Road. Two people are reported injured in a two-car accident on westbound I-70 at mile marker 196.8.In the eastbound lane across from that accident, crews are clearing a four-car accident.
