Contractor crews are shifting to Stage 3 construction at the Routes A/B and Interstate 70 interchange (mile marker 188.6), near Pendleton in Warren County.
Work will be divided into two construction phases. Initially, Phase 3A will focus on tie-in work located south and west of the interchange then transition to phase 3B focusing on all four Interstate 70 ramps at the interchange.
This week, motorists will notice work beginning on two tie-in sections located at West Veterans Memorial Parkway and Route B to connect pavement to the newly constructed segments from previous stages.

Weather permitting, work will transition to Phase 3B as early as October 5. Route B and West Veterans Memorial Parkway will reopen, and work will shift to the I-70 on and off ramps.

As progress continues on the project, the interchange will be an active work zone and require various segments to close for roadway construction. “There are currently a significant number of active work zones throughout the I-70 corridor. We would like to remind drivers to please slow down, obey all signs and eliminate distractions while driving. The safety of the traveling public and our workers is our top priority,” stated Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Jeff Niemeyer.
