Innsbrook trustees approve snow removal contract, meet the candidates forum

The Innsbrook Board of Trustees unanimously approved the terms of an agreement with Pezz LLC for snow removal services at Village Hall, subject to approval by the company, during the board’s Jan. 15 meeting.

The board voted 5-0 to approve an agreement with Pezz LLC, but during the meeting it was discussed that there were some amendments to the contract made by the village’s attorney Bradley Pryor that Pezz had not yet seen. The board approved the contract with the attorney’s changes, subject to Pezz approving the contract. During the discussion it was noted that if Pezz does not sign the approved contract, the board would have to enter into further discussions regarding the agreement.

The contract provides that the village will pay Pezz $65 for pre-treating sidewalks, and for each winter weather occurrence a fee based upon the number of inches that fall. For up to three inches the cost is $160, for three to six inches $240 and for six to nine inches $320.

The board also discussed hosting a meet the candidate’s forum for the upcoming election in April. Four candidates have filed to run for two seats on the board. They are Donna West, Cynthia Cook, Virgal Woolfork and Sandra Zahradka. Board Chair Cynthia Bowers suggested holding the forum following the board’s regularly scheduled meeting in March, as that is what has been done in the past, but she said that could be discussed at a later date.

Bowers also said she was looking at scheduling a guest speaker in either February, March or April to educate the board on what is currently going on with data centers in the county. She said she did not feel that the board of trustees needed to take any action regarding data centers, but she wanted to get information regarding the projects. It was discussed that the Boonslick Regional Planning Commission might be able to assist with scheduling a speaker.

Bowers also told the board that she was seeking their input on the village’s codification project. The project would take all of the village’s ordinances and analyze them to make sure they are current and up-to-date. She asked for all of the board members to provide their thoughts by Jan. 23. She said a special meeting of the board would be scheduled at some point during the first week in February to go over the ordinances.

The board also tabled a discussion on the village’s request for proposals for security services in order to obtain more information on what services would be provided.
