A St. Clair man was charged last week with stealing more than $1,000 from the Innsbrook Golf Club pro shop.Kevin R. Hunt, 21, is charged in connection with the theft Tuesday, Sept. 10. He also is facing a felony drug possession charge. According to a probable cause statement filed in circuit court, Warren County deputies were dispatched to the golf club shortly before 7:30 p.m. in reference to a stealing in progress.A witness heard someone in the golf pro shop’s cash register and saw Hunt walking out of the shop. The witness confronted Hunt and Hunt turned over two $20 bills. When the witness returned to the pro shop to call security, Hunt left the scene. Deputies later found Hunt in a nearby wooded area, where two additional $20 bills were recovered. Deputies continued searching the area and found two bundles containing $270 and $420.Authorities said $1,064.55 had been in the cash register. During a search of Hunt’s vehicle three codeine tablets were found.Hunt told authorities that the tablets were prescription drugs that he obtained from a friend. Hunt later told police that he was given $80 by another man, which he believed was stolen from the pro shop. Hunt was held at Warren County Jail on $20,000 bond.Innsbrook Golf Club Robbed
