Innsbrook founder dies at age 83

Innsbrook Resort founder Ed Boyce has died from heart failure, the organization announced Thursday, Nov. 29, through its Facebook page.“Ed’s zest for enjoying life and doing things to the fullest is reflected everywhere you look at Innsbrook. His endearing personality, smile and generous spirit will be greatly missed,” the resort stated.The 83-year-old Boyce was a founding member and chairman of the real estate development group that eventually would create Innsbrook. The lake shore chalet homes found throughout the resort were inspired by a house Boyce saw while living in Colorado, according to a history published by Innsbrook.Innsbrook Resort was built with an appreciation of nature and recreation. It was recognized as a municipal village in 1998.Boyce’s son, Charlie Boyce, currently serves as Innsbrook Resort’s chairman and CEO.
