Warren County authorities have charged four people with felony drug crimes after discovering earlier this year that they were working together to smuggle drugs into the county jail.Dylan R. Bird, 25; Beverly Flores, 38; Bryan K. Warren, 39; and Edward A. Porter, 35, are all charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance. Porter is a resident of New Florence, while Bird, Flores and Warren all have addresses in Illinois, according to online court records.Charging documents state Warren County Jail staff in April intercepted a delivery of drugs including methamphetamine concealed within underwear dropped off for Dylan Bird.Bird was in jail here for violating probation on a 2016 burglary and theft conviction, while Porter is serving a sentence for domestic assault. Warren was being held at the Warren County Jail on behalf of the U.S. Marshals, said Lt. Scott Schoenfeld of the sheriff’s department.He added that Flores has no known ties to the community, but is friends with one of the other defendants.Investigators allege that Flores, Bird and Warren had previously smuggled meth into the jail to distribute to other inmates.Four days before the most recent delivery on April 16, Bird and Porter allegedly contacted an outside person and directed her to deposit $100 into Bird’s inmate spending account. Bird allegedly used that money to pay Flores for the drugs.Court records show Porter as the only suspect who has been arraigned for the drug delivery charges. His next hearing is Oct. 3 in Warren County Circuit Court.Drug charge
