Illinois woman charged with burglary

A Hardin, Ill., woman was recently charged with second-degree burglary for an incident that occurred Jan. 27, 2024.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department April 24, a deputy responded to a location in Warren County Jan. 28, 2024 in reference to a burglary report. According to the affidavit, the victim said that his ex-girlfriend Eryka Gauntt of Hardin, Ill. recently sent him threatening messages saying she was going to come to his residence, kill everyone and destroy his property. The victim said he observed that all four tires of his vehicle had been slashed and a security camera was missing. The victim said he also observed the rear kitchen window was opened. He reported two items missing from the residence, a JBL Bluetooth speaker and a vacuum cleaner.

On Aug 2, 2024, deputies made contact with Gauntt and she admitted being in the victim’s home without permission and removed items from the home.

A $5,000 cash-only bond was issued for Gauntt’s arrest April 27.
