Chaz Armstrong, 32, of O’Fallon Ill., was charged with one count of stealing a motor vehicle, a felony, stemming from a Feb. 1 incident.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Warrenton Police Officer Robert Kamp, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Feb. 1.
The victim told officers she and Armstrong had gotten into an argument and he had said he wanted to take her car back to his residence in Illinois.
The victim refused and the argument escalated until she kicked him out of her residence.
The next morning, the victim checked her surveillance cameras and saw that Armstrong had taken the vehicle. She also provided messages between her and Armstrong confirming the theft, according to the probable cause statement.
The vehicle was found in a parking garage in St. Louis.
A warrant has been issued for Armstrong’s arrest and he is to be held on a $15,000 bond.
