MoDOT is reporting that Interstate 70 and Highway 47 in Warren County is covered in ice. Due to the icy and dangerous conditions and multiple accidents in the county, the Warren County Emergency Management Agency recommends all drivers stay off the roads unless necessary.MoDOT warns that traffic is moving very slowly on US 61 between Wentzville and north of Troy, as well as all along I-70 between Kingdom City and Wentzville.Freezing drizzle is continually falling in these areas and others throughout northeast Missouri; drivers are encouraged to not go anywhere. "If it is absolutely necessary to drive, drive slowly, please allow a lot of extra time, wear a seat belt and be patient," said Marisa Ellison, communications manager for MoDOT's Northeast District. Icy conditions are expected to continue throughout the night, and while MoDOT crews will be out working first on the interstates and major roads, there are still expected to be challenging conditions. "For drivers who live on minor roads, we discourage any travel, as we are not sure when our crews can get to the less traveled roads," Ellison explained.Road conditions are shown online at www.modot.org, or those needing to travel can call MoDOT customer service 24/7 at 1-888-275-6636.Accident
