A winter ice storm caused a string of vehicle accidents -- including a semi pile-up and an overturned fire truck -- on and around Interstate 70 Saturday evening and Sunday morning stretching thin the ability of local emergency personnel to respond to all of the accidents.Some motorists were stranded on I-70 for nearly eight hours.A Warrenton Fire Protection District pumper truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident en route to a collision involving two semis on the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 Saturday at approximately 9:20 p.m. Fire officials said no one was injured, but I-70 was closed in both directions between Warrenton and Wright City for approximately 2 hours.Later six semis were involved in a massive pile-up near the 191-mile marker of Interstate 70 west of Warrenton stalling traffic for nearly eight hours. One lane reopened at 8:50 a.m.We will update this story as information becomes available.Warrenton fire truck overturns on I-70
