I-70 rollover sends 10 to area hospitals

Ten Cincinnati, Ohio, residents, ranging in age from 4 to 45 years old, were transported to area hospitals following a rollover accident Monday afternoon.Traffic along Interstate 70 was backed up well into Warren County following the 2:15 p.m. accident at the Jonesburg exit. Personnel with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the Jonesburg Police Department, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the Warren County Ambulance District responded to the scene.The accident occurred when 41-year-old Yvonne Djakata, who was driving an eastbound 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan, fell asleep, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The van flipped over the center median, the patrol said.Djakata was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur, with moderate injuries. The other passengers were transported to St. Joseph Hospital West at Lake St. Louis by Warren County Ambulance, the patrol reported.

Traffic in both directions of I-70 was backed up far into Warren County after an accident near the Jonesburg Exit. Ten people were rushed to the hospital with injuries including one person that was air-lifted to a local medical facility. Jimmy Potts photo
