A murder trial that had been set for this month has been delayed until January 2019.The trial for Ashley N. Hunter of Foristell is now scheduled to take place over eight days beginning Jan. 14, 2019. It had been slated to begin June 11.Hunter, 31, is accused of murdering her husband, 30-year-old Nicholas Hunter, in a January 2015 shooting at their home on Old Cotton Road.Hunter’s trial was postponed May 30 at the request of her attorney, Scott Rosenblum. Rosenblum asked for the trial to be rescheduled because the four days allotted for it would not be enough for the defense to makes its case, according to court records.Although three days were available in June to extend the time for the trial without rescheduling, witnesses for both the defense and prosecution would have availability issues, records state. Presiding Circuit Court Judge Wes Dalton granted the request to find a new date for the trial.Hunter remains in jail on a $1 million, cash-only bond.Ashley Hunter
