The second annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week will take place November 14-21.Agape is promoting several events throughout the week to help raise awareness of hunger in Warren County. In addition to the events, orange ribbons will be hung throughout the community to show support for this week.“Many people are not aware of how prevalent hunger is in Warren County,” said Michelle Bernth, Agape executive director. “In this community, one in four families are facing food insecurity. This is a problem that we can tackle together as a community".Agape invites the community to join them for several events throughout the week.Monday, Nov. 16Dining Out Against HungerDine out at these participating restaurants and have a portion of the proceeds donated to Agape.Denny’s — all dayImo’s — lunchWednesday, Nov. 17Agape Open HouseJoin Agape for a meet and greet, along with tours of Agape’s newly renovated Warren County food pantry. Come by and learn about Agape’s new client-choice model. Light refreshments provided. The Agape food pantry is located at 713 Powell Street in Warrenton The open house will take place from 4-6 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 19Dining Out Against HungerDine out at these participating restaurants and have a portion of the proceeds donated to AGAPE.Brewskies — lunchEl Jimador — dinnerSaturday, Nov. 21Scouting for Food DriveJoin the Boy Scouts of America for the Scouting for Food Drive to collect necessary food and personal care items for Agape’s food pantry.“At Agape, we are so grateful for the support of this community,” Bernth said. “We could not serve the 1,200 people who depend on Agape each month without the community’s generous support.”Agape
