When classes resume in the fall at Holy Rosary School, a new set of students will be roaming the halls. The Catholic school in Warrenton is starting a preschool program when the 2016-2017 school year begins in August. The class will be open to children who are 4 years old as of Aug. 1. The program offers part- and full-time schedules that are flexible for parents.“We saw a need for serving our community at a greater capacity with a preschool,” Principal Lori Racine said. “We surveyed the parish community. The response was overwhelmingly favorable.”School officials have been busy in recent weeks preparing for the new program. A preschool teacher, who will be certified in early childhood education, is expected to be hired soon. Additional staff may be added depending on how well enrollment goes. The program will occupy one of the larger classrooms in the newer part of the school facility, with a bathroom designed for younger children nearby.School officials noted that the program, just like the grade school currently home to almost 100 students grades kindergarten through eighth, is open to all faiths. The grade school has seen enrollment climb in the past year with an increase of 12 students from the 2014-2015 school year.So far the announcement has been met by a positive response. A handful of students have already enrolled, Racine said. She added parents should expect an organized structure with students receiving customized one-on-on attention.“Our hope is to continue to grow our community,” Racine remarked.Morning classes will run from 7:50-11:15 a.m. and cost $155 for three days or $185 for five days a week.Full-time schedules run from 7:50 a.m.-2:50 p.m. The monthly tuition is $255 for students attending three days or $345 for five days a week.Financial assistance is available. There also is a $50 registration fee and $75 book fee.For students enrolled by April 1, the registration fee will be reduced to $25.“We believe Holy Rosary has been a great asset to the community for many, many years and will be a vital part of the community for many more to come,” said Father John Mayor, Holy Rosary parochial administrator. For more information about the preschool program or to schedule a tour, the school can be reached at 636-456-3698 or email Racine at racinel@holyrosarywm.com.
