The holiday season is in full swing this week as several events are scheduled for this week.
Starting Thursday at 6 p.m. is the Wright City Christmas Parade, which begins on East North 1st Street, will take a right on N. Elm St, left on E. 2nd St north and will conclude with activities at Diekroeger Park. Events at Diekroeger Park include the annual Kurt Kehoe Memorial Christmas tree lighting,bon fires and s’mores, hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas choirs, and a visit from Santa Claus.
Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. Truesdale is hosting its Community Christmas event at the Marylou Center, 821 Market St. The event will include pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, popcorn, cookies, drinks and hot cocoa. The Central Missouri Railroad Association will be having a train display. Raffles will include opportunities to win family packs of Polar Express tickets, bikes and a variety of toys. FFA baskets can also be won as prizes. Kids can also visit Santa’s workshop.
Saturday the city of Warrenton will host its Hometown Christmas from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Warrenton City Hall Parking Lot, 200 W. Booneslick.
The evening begins at 5:00 pm with the much-anticipated Christmas Light Parade. Starting at Blackhawk Middle School, the parade will head north on Kuhl Ave, turn left on Booneslick, cross over Hwy 47, continue along Main Street, and conclude at City Hall. Immediately following the parade, Santa will be available for photos with families.
City Hall’s parking lot will be transformed into Peppermint Square, opening at 5 p.m. Attendees can meet live reindeer, listen to carolers spreading holiday cheer, and indulge in complimentary seasonal treats. Free hot chocolate and mulled cider will be provided.Kids can enjoy free s’mores, ride a trackless train, explore festive inflatables and a light maze, write letters to Santa, and engage in three craft stations. A gift raffle for children aged two to 18 will also be part of the festivities.
