A Wright City man who was arrested last Wednesday told police he drove to St. Louis multiple times a day to purchase heroin.The suspect, Robert J. Bankhead, would distribute the heroin to local residents who provided him with cash for the drug runs, police said. Bankhead, 36, of Pine Forest Drive, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked.Wright City detectives responded to Bankhead’s residence to perform a search warrant. While searching a jacket he was wearing, police discovered heroin packaged in four smaller bags and a bag containing pot, according to the probable cause statement. Police also allegedly seized $294 in cash that was found in one of Bankhead’s pockets and found numerous items used to package drugs.Robert J. BankheadWCSD JAIL
