State Rep. Bryan Spencer and Wright City Mayor Dan Rowden are encouraging Wright City and Warren County residents to help raise money for local charities by attending the “100 People Who Care” event. The next one-hour meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Diekroeger Bros. Park in Wright City.100 People Who Care is a group of men and women who care about the communities of Warren County and Wright City. The group’s goal is to raise $10,000 at the one-hour event, and a total of $20,000 for the year. During the meeting each member will write a $100 check to a charity the group selects. Spencer and Rowden said the event offers an opportunity for community members to come together and socialize while also making much-needed donations to local charities. “This is a great opportunity to come together as a community to support charities that can make a world of difference in the lives of those who need our help,” said Spencer, R-Wentzville. “I encourage everyone to come out and make a contribution to this worthy cause.”“I believe this is a special way for our citizens to be able to give back to multiple charities in Wright City and Warren County. I would encourage anyone to participate. The Christmas season has reminded me how important it is to give to others. Rep. Spencer and I hope you will join us in this important endeavor,” said Mayor Dan Rowden. The group will hold a second event Sept. 14.Wright City signRecord photo
