Two people from Warrenton suffered only minor injuries after another vehicle on Interstate 70 crossed the center median and struck their vehicle head-on.
The crash happened Oct. 9 just after noon, east of the Foristell interchange, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. A total of three vehicles were involved in the crash.
Joseph J. Blumenkemper, 57, and Melody A. Blumenkemper, 55, both of Warrenton. were taken to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital with minor injuries, the highway patrol said. They were both wearing seat belts.
The highway patrol said a 2003 Buick Centry, driven eastbound by Lachlan R. Harlan, 18, of St. Louis, lost control and traveled across the median into the westbound lanes. It struck the Blumenkemper’s 2009 Honda Fit head-on, causing the Honda to strike the towed unit of a tractor-trailer.
Harlan was wearing a seat belt during the crash. Neither he nor the tractor-trailer driver had any reported injuries.
