First responders airlifted two people with severe injuries from the site of a head-on crash involving two pickup trucks on Highway 47 at Hopewell Hill Monday evening, Oct. 4.
David A. Holt, 42, of Warrenton, and Rodney F. Marquart, 51, of Marthasville, were both flown to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, according to a crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The report states the crash occurred around 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 47 and Coventry Circle. The crash occurred when the Ford F-150 driven northbound by Holt allegedly crossed the center line of the highway. It collided head-on with the Chevrolet Silverado driven southbound by Marquart.
The highway patrol did not say what may have caused Holt’s vehicle to cross lanes.
Holt reportedly was not wearing a seat belt during the crash. Marquart did have a seat belt on.
