A Hawk Point woman was recently charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention and assault in the second degree for an incident that occurred Dec. 11, 2025.
According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by Missouri State Highway Patrol, Amber McKenzie of Hawk Point failed to yield to an officer who was in pursuit of her on Highway 47 north of Powerline Road. McKenzie drove her vehicle across the center of the roadway and struck another vehicle, seriously injuring two occupants of the other vehicle, including a male subject who had to have surgery for a broken tailbone and fracture to his lower L2 vertebrae. The female in the other car required surgery for a perforated lower intestine.
Upon search of McKenzie’s vehicle she was also found to be in possession of a clear glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.
A no-bond warrant was issued for McKenzie’s arrest on March 30.
