The annual Hawk Point Heritage Day celebration will hit a 20-year milestone this year on Sunday, Sept. 13.This year’s theme is “Counting Our Blessings.” The town endured a small tornado and excessive rainfall that caused damage to crops and gardens in the past year. The annual event, hosted by the Hawk Point Booster Club at the community park, features a craft show, car show, fried chicken dinner, fiddlers’ contest and more activities from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.The craft booths will open at 10 a.m. A nondenominational church service also begins at 10 a.m. in the park. Communion will be available.Registration will be held for the antique and classic car and truck show between 9 a.m.-noon. Judging for the car show will start at noon. Multiple classes are available for entrants and People’s Choice award will also be presented.An all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in the VFW Hall.At 12:15 p.m., entertainment in the park begins, with the Troy High School jazz band playing at 1 p.m.At 2 p.m., a fiddlers’ contest and children’s games will start. Frank Stanek and the Country Limits will perform following the fiddlers’ contest. A kiddie tractor pull will start at 3 p.m.For more information, call Sharon Hasekamp at 636-338-4603.
