Mr. Glennon Welge of Wright City passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at his home. Glennon was born on December 16, 1930, in St. Charles to the late Arthur and Florence (nee: Painter) Welge. He had reached the age of 91 years.
Glenn served our country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Barbara Edwards on April 22, 1954, in Warrenton. They celebrated 62 wonderful years together before her passing in 2016. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after working there for over 30 years as a sheet metal worker. Glenn enjoyed camping his entire life. He had a travel trailer and traveled all over the United States. He enjoyed a trip all the way to Alaska, but his favorite place to go was Mark Twain Lake. He also enjoyed going on cruises, having gone to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. He enjoyed gardening, and at one time had over 100 tomato plants. Glen would always take time out to enjoy a beer with a friend. His favorite beer was Miller Hi-Life. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed going deer hunting. Glenn and Barbara liked to go dancing at T & D Bar and Earl's Bar. One thing that was very special to him was getting together with his family for a barbecue and bonfire. Glenn was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend to many.
Glenn Welge was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; his parents, Arthur and Florence; two children, Bryan Welge and Beverly Welge; one son-in-law, Melvin "Tom" Tucker; and one sister, Evelyn Bentmann. Those who are grateful for having shared in Glenn's life are his three children, Glenda Tucker, Debra Null and husband Tyler, Cynthia Duncan and husband Bill; 16 grandchildren, Dawn Shaw, Stephanie Tucker (Mike Pearson), Thomas Bryan Tucker, Crystal Richardson (Tony), Kenneth Connor (Kandy), Shanae Parks, Darius Lane (Kristal), Travis Welge (Christine), Aaron Null, Taylor Null, Troy Duncan, Brandon Duncan (Athena), Courtney Duncan, Tyler Duncan (Lisa), Jessica Armstrong (Roger), Blain Duncan; 30 great-grandchildren, Tre Moore, Drake Nagle, Bredan Nagle, Leah Pearson, Logan Pearson, Jaden Null, Deontae Jones, Deshawn Jones, Javon Jones, Alexis Richardson, Aaliyah Richardson, Jada Connor, Xavier Richardson, Kierra Richardson, June Bug Lane, Taylor Anderson, Marcus Paddack, Kinsley Welge, Kaitlyn Duncan, Amber Patterson, Natalie Duncan, Chloe Duncan, Wesley Duncan, Kadence Duncan, Carter Duncan, Carly Duncan, Weston Hopper, Addison Hopper, Kenzie Armstrong, Jenna Armstrong; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Adrien Nagle, Treyvon Jones, Raylynn Patterson and Alexander Patterson; one brother, Raymond Welge (Dorothy), other relatives and many friends.
Visitation for Mr. Glennon Welge will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery with full military honors.
