The Eastern Missouri Dark Sky Observers is selling safety glasses for eclipse viewing on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 21.The entire phase of the eclipse in the St. Louis area is expected to last from 11:52 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.People in Warren County should start looking for the total eclipse at about 1:15 p.m., but only with the proper eye protection, and sunglasses will not work.Rick Schwentker, the organization’s president, is selling eclipse glasses for $2 each. Proceeds from the sale will help rebuild the East Central College Observatory in Union.The organization hosts free public stargazing at the observatory on the fourth Saturday of each month, starting at dusk.
