Mr. President, you lost the popular vote by more than 2.5 million votes. Accept it. Your presidency is legitimate. Ignore those people who are saying you are not the legitimate president.This has happened before — a president losing the popular vote but winning with the majority of the Electoral College votes.Mr. President, your opponent in the November election, Hillary Clinton, by now, apparently, has accepted defeat. Some of her supporters will never get over her defeat. They are still stunned.President Trump alleges 3 to 5 million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. cast ballots. That’s a ridiculous allegation.The assertions by some Democrats that Trump is not the legitimate president is just as ridiculous as Trump’s outbursts about widespread voter fraud.The wild assertions about President Trump’s legitimacy to hold the office is a distraction to the new administration. Only the president can cast it aside and get on with the nation’s business.
