Local veterans and community members are planning a public gathering to express their respect for the American flag.
The group is planning to assemble at the Highway 47 overpass over Interstate 70 Oct. 21 from 1-2 p.m. to display their support for veterans and the nation. The attendees were encouraged to make signs saying things like “We stand for our flag” or “We stand for the national anthem.”
An announcement for the event asked those who come to avoid any negative messages, however.
