Gary Stephen Hellyer

Mr. Gary Stephen Hellyer, of Warrenton,, passed away on Thursday, December 7, at the age of 73 years. He was born on January 28, 1950 to the late Harvey and Silvia (nee: Swafford) Hellyer.

Gary proudly served our country in the United States AirForce from 1968 to1972, during the Vietnam era. He worked in telecommunications in the military and also after retiring from the AirForce. He became a business owner and began Westford Communications Inc.. Gary was united in marriage to Anita Sue Carlson on July 11, 1992. They recently celebrated 31 wonderful years together. Gary was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. Gary was the founder of the Route 66 Corvette Club.

Gary Hellyer was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Silvia Hellyer; one brother, Floyd Eugene Hellyer; one sister, Joyce Cole. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Anita Hellyer; one daughter, Kasey Hellyer; one son Jason Livingston and wife Shelly; two brothers, Harry Hellyer and wife Lu Ann; Mark Linnville and wife Sandy; five grandchildren; Zach, Joshua, Matthew, Abigail and Andrew Kuykendall; four great grandchildren, Jaxson, Ellie, Cora and Liam; other relatives and close family friends.

Gary's family will host a celebration of his life with a visitation on Friday, December 15, at Martin Funeral Home from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. They will then go to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, for a committal service with full military honors.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Missouri Humane Society, c/o Martin Funeral Home.
