Gary W. Pezold of Warrenton passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the age of 65 after a battle with lung cancer.

Gary was born December 15, 1956, in St. Louis, the son of the late Donald Pezold and his wife, Patricia (Kern) Pezold. He is the father of Brandi M. Pezold of Silex, MO, and Gary B. and Dawn (Crouch) Pezold; pa-pa of four fantastic grandsons, Shawn and Kait (Huber) Pezold, Jonathon and Mikayla (Wilson) Green, Anthony Pezold, and James Cockrell; great-grandfather of Kinsley and Kayden Green; brother of three siblings, Barbara and Gary Collins, Deborah Jeffries, and John and Darlene (Green) Pezold; dear uncle and great uncle of 19; and owner of his 3 fur-babies, Teddy, Bruno and Missy. Gary is loved and will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Gary lived life to the fullest, and anyone who knew him knew he was a social butterfly. He would always be there to talk, lend a hand, or see if there was anything he could help with. Gary enjoyed working with his hands throughout most of his life - working on cars, cutting firewood, concrete work, or anything that would keep him occupied. As long as he was hanging out with people, he was doing what he loved most. Gary was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Warrenton, where he enjoyed working the Parish Fish Fry for many years.

Visitation for Gary will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 23 at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Gary will be laid to rest at Our Lady Cemetery in Lake Saint Louis. Memorials may be made payable to the American Lung Association, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P. O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 or at https://action.lung.org/.
