The Marthasville Parks Department hosted a dedication ceremony Oct. 8 for a memorial erected in Lichtenberg Park, honoring the veterans of the Marthasville area. Inscribed on the monument are the words, "With pride and gratitude, the Marthasville Community honors those residents who served our Nation's Armed Forces. In war and peace their service protected our freedoms. For freedom is the sure possession of only those who have the courage to defend it."
