The American Legion Post 122 in Warrenton is fundraising to purchase wreaths.Wreaths Across America is a program that was established with a mission to place a memorial wreath on every veteran’s grave across the country.The local American Legion’s mission is to raise enough money to purchase 300 wreaths for veterans who are buried in the Warrenton City Cemetery.The wreaths will be delivered a few days before the ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. The American Legion, American Legion Riders, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from Warrenton will place the wreaths on veterans’ graves after a brief ceremony.People who want to purchase a wreath to personally place on a veteran’s gravesite may do so. Those wreaths should be picked up between 8-10 a.m. Dec. 17 at the American Legion, 28855 Legion Trail in Warrenton.Donations may be made at the cost of a wreath, $15, or any amount.
