Friends Foundation to hold first wine dinner benefit

The Friends Foundation (formerly Friends of Emmaus) will hold its first wine dinner to benefit the organization Thursday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lake Creek Winery, located at 15088 Boone Monument Road in Marthasville.Reservations are limited. The cost of $75 will include appetizers, dinner, wine and beer. Payment can be sent to Lynne Unnerstall, 701 W. Main St., Washington, MO 63090.For more information email lynneunnerstall@live.com.The annual festival and quilt auction will take place Sunday, Oct. 8, from noon to 5 p.m. at Boone Monument Village, 15226 Boone Monument Road near Marthasville.Crafts made by Franklin and Warren County disabled will be featured, as well as picnic food, a flea market, gourmet foods and a book sale. The oral auction will begin at 3 p.m.Exceptional Equestrians will hold a special demonstration during the event.Projects funded by the Friends Foundation include the purchase of accessible vans, new mattresses, therapeutic riding helmets, staff appreciation activities and household items. The organization makes it possible for special needs individuals to participate in the Exceptional Equestrian and arts and crafts pottery programs.The Friends Foundation is an organization dedicated to the advancement and general welfare of persons with developmental disabilities.
