The performers at this week’s Concert in the Park Aug. 16 in Wright City are a family who have made waves in the bluegrass world in recent years.The Baker Family, composed of three young adult siblings and their mother, perform at bluegrass events throughout the country. They were featured on season 12 of the “America’s Got Talent” TV show and PBS’s “Great American Bluegrass,” and have won awards for performances at Silver Dollar City and other national festivals.The Baker Family will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Diekroeger Park in Wright City. The performance is free to attend and is sponsored by the Warren County Fine Arts Council and the city of Wright City.Event organizers added that the Bakers, who are from south-central Missouri, also have direct relatives in Wright City, adding a bit of local pride to their performance.The Baker FamilyImage courtesy of www.TheBakerFamilyBluegrass.com.
