The National Weather Service has pushed up warnings of heavy snowfall Friday and Saturday, now saying it could begin late morning and deposit an average of 6-9 inches across central and eastern Missouri.Other weather services forecast light snow or freezing rain to begin between 9 a.m. and noon in Warren County, with more significant snowfall entering the area in mid- to late-afternoon. Forecasting service Accuweather now predicts a 48 percent chance that Warren County will receive greater than 10 inches of snow.Winter weather is forecasted to persist throughout Saturday morning, and then become sporadic into Saturday afternoon and evening.The National Weather Service recommends avoiding travel if possible during the snowfall event. Those who must travel Friday or Saturday should fill their vehicles with gas, use extreme caution on the roads, and carry a winter storm kit which includes a shovel, flashlight, cellphone, food and water, and blankets or extra warm clothing.Winter weather advisory
