Free prep classes to earn GED offered

St. Charles Community College in Warrenton is offering free preparation classes for high school equivalency testing, or GED.The class is available for Missouri residents who are 17 and older and not enrolled in high school.Equivalency testing students must complete two four-hour registration/orientation sessions to qualify.Registration for enrollment is done on a walk-in basis and space is limited, so students are encouraged to arrive early. They should bring a pen, pencil, spiral notebook and a two-pocket folder.Registration/orientation sessions in Warren County are held at University of Missouri Extension, 107 W. Walton in Warrenton.To attend the morning registration/orientation pairing, students should attend both the Friday, Aug. 19, and Friday, Aug. 26, classes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.To attend the evening registration/orientation pairing, students should attend both the Monday, Aug. 22, and Wednesday, Aug. 24, session from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.Classes begin after registration/orientation is completed. Morning classes start Aug. 29 and are held 9 to noon Mondays and Wednesdays in Warrenton.Evening classes start Aug. 30 and are held 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in Warrenton.Course instructors do not schedule an end date, rather, students complete the course on their own time.
