The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) is extending an invitation to anyone interested in attending a free Cultural Heritage Workshop to learn how heritage and cultural can benefit your community. The workshop is free to attend and lunch will be provided, but registration is required in advance.
The event is Tuesday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Warren County Administration Building, 101 Mockingbird Lane, Warrenton.
To register, go online to www.facebook.com/events/279681229890112.
MHC began piloting Cultural Heritage Workshops in late 2017, and the objective of these workshops is to provide the tools and resources necessary to strengthen cultural heritage programming in Missouri’s rural communities. There will be opportunities for group discussion, networking, and applied activities to help participants re-evaluate and strengthen assets in the community and lay out initial steps for growth.
Social distancing will be enforced, and organizers encourage all participants to wear masks. Because of this, space is very limited and advanced registration is required.
MHC is monitoring the COVID-19 situation and working closely with the Warren County communities, Boonslick Regional Planning Commission, and the selected presenters. There is a chance that organizers may opt to move the workshop to a virtual setting. If that should that occur, notice will be sent to all registrants with these changes.
It is MHC’s goal to host these workshops statewide over the coming years to reach all areas of Missouri, especially those that are in most need of workshops of this kind.
