The Warrenton soccer team had four players named to the All-GAC team following a 7-14 season. Two Warriors were selected to the first team, while another pair received second-team nods.Brittany Glazebrook — Freshman was chosen to the first team as a forward after leading the Warriors with 25 points on 11 goals and three assists.“She brought a lot of control. At the beginning of the season I was hoping she would be a big scorer. She had a lot of confidence and was able to open up passes. By her playing midfield we cut down tremendously on amount of goals.”Sam Swoboda — Senior was named to the first team as a midfielder after a solid season that included three goals.“She’s got a lot of natural speed and has been a great athlete for us. She had a lot of the breakaway speed and defensively she was a great asset for us to shut down their offense once they got possession.”Danielle Duello — Senior was recognized with a second-team spot as a defender after netting eight points on three goals and two assists.“She was a great role player on the mid-wing, playing well with Sam. She gave us three goals in one of our key games against Sullivan. She did a great job of getting the ball up the sideline and getting the crosses across. This year she brought a lot more speed to her and came out of her shell.”Macie Sommer — Freshman also claimed second-team honors as a defender during a promising first varsity season that saw three goals and two assists.“She’s a very versatile player. She was confident in any position I’d put her in. She and Brittany could control the middle or I could move her back to defense. She’s a very aggressive player who will go into contact with anybody.”
