A Truesdale man has been sentenced to 120 days of shock incarceration after pleading guilty to second-degree domestic assault.Jesse A. Barnett, 30, was sentenced Jan. 18 for a July 2017 assault in which he allegedly choked a woman and later punched through her car window.Presiding Circuit Court Judge Wes Dalton ordered Barnett to serve four months with the state Department of Corrections, based on a plea agreement with the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. After successfully completing the shock incarceration, Barnett would be released on probation. He faces seven years in prison if his probation is revoked.Barnett was arrested July 18 for a violent attack on a woman the day before.Police were dispatched to Barnett’s residence on Wabash Street just after 10 p.m. July 17, after the victim’s father reported that his daughter was involved in a domestic assault. The victim told police that during an argument with Barnett he grabbed her around the neck with both hands and began choking her. The victim further alleged that Barnett pinned her against a door and threw her into a table while she was trying to leave the residence. The victim said after she managed to secure herself in her vehicle, Barnett punched through her driver side window, striking her, according to authorities.Jesse Barnett
