Three Wright City softball players were recently named to the Eastern Missouri Conference first team.
Lydia Clubb, Paige Rees and Emma Staats all were named to the first team. Clubb was named to the first team as an infielder. Clubb led the Lady Wildcats with a .689 batting average. She logged 26 extra base hits, including seven home runs and seven triples. She had 51 hits on the season and stole 18 bases.
Staats was named ot the first team as a utility player. She finished the season with a .505 batting average in her senior season. She led Wright City with eight home runs and 46 RBIs.
Rees was named to the first team at catcher. She hit .500 on the season with three home runs and 17 RBIs. She also stole seven bases.
Sophia Wegrzyn was named to the conference’s second team. Wegrzyn hit .541 on the season. She hit six home runs and finished second among all Wright City batters with 41 RBIs. She also started 16 games on the mound for the Lady Wildcats. She earned five wins and struck out 65 batters in 94 innings.
