Four county offices remain uncontested with the filing period to close near the end of the month.No new candidates filed in the past week for any of the elected positions up for grabs this year, according to County Clerk Barb Daly.The four candidates who are currently unopposed are Northern District Commissioner Dan Hampson, Southern District Commissioner Hubie Kluesner, Sheriff Kevin Harrison and Surveyor Robert Lewis. All offices are four-year terms.The deadline to file is Tuesday, March 29.Three races have emerged for the Aug. 2 primary election.Three candidates have filed for coroner. They are incumbent Glenn Craig, Denise Mauzy and Tom Massman.For public administrator, incumbent Eugene Buxton is being challenged by Melissa Dempsey. The race for assessor pits incumbent Wendy Nordwald against Andrew Smith.All of the candidates are Republicans. The general election will be held Nov. 8.State Reps. Bart Korman and Bryan Spencer are currently unopposed. Korman is running for a fourth two-year term representing the 42nd District, which encompasses all of Montgomery County, a large portion of Warren County and southwestern St. Charles County.Spencer is in his second term in the 63rd District, which includes Wright City, nearly all of Innsbrook and northwestern St. Charles County.Election
