Four arrested with stolen guns

Four suspects were arrested May 17 for possession of stolen firearms in connection to a home invasion in Warrenton, according to an arrest report.A blue Chevrolet Equinox SUV was described in the suspected home invasion in Warrenton, and police were given a partial license plate number. Less than 10 minutes after receiving an alert to watch for the vehicle, Wright City police spotted a matching SUV exiting Interstate 70 at Wildcat Drive, police said.Police stopped the vehicle and found three males and two females inside.During a search, police located three firearms, including an AK-47 rifle and a handgun that had both been reported stolen.Four of the vehicle’s occupants are now charged with two counts of stealing a firearm, a Class D felony with a penalty of up to seven years in prison. The vehicle’s fifth occupant has not been charged with a crime and her name has not been released.The four charged in the case are De’Aunte M. Shaw, 18, Hallsville; Jamel Tackett, 18, Columbia; Dydreonte Buchanan, 17, Columbia; and Kayla M. Spiva, 21, Hallsville.Shaw faces additional charges because he is a convicted felon who is not allowed to be in possession of firearms. Shaw was serving a four-year probation for allegedly receiving stolen property in July 2016.Shaw also is being charged for second- and third -degree assaults allegedly committed at the 2200 block of Pinta Drive in Warrenton just before he was arrested. Two people at that location alleged that Shaw pushed them and punched them, and allege that he struck one with the handle of a pistol, according to Warrenton Police. An officer reportedly observed injuries on both victims.Shaw is being held on a $30,000 bond. The rest were given $10,000 bonds, which Tackett and Spiva have posted.Shaw, Buchanan and Spiva have arraignments set for May 31 at the Warren County Circuit Court. A court date for Tackett has not been set.
