Former police chief challenges incumbent in Marthasville

Two candidates are running for one seat on the Marthasville board of aldermen.Incumbent Christoper DeVore is challenged by former Marthasville Police Chief Eugene “Gene” Jenkins for the Southwest Ward 2 seat that is up for election.Jenkins will appear first on the ballot. His profile appears below.DeVore did not respond to requests for his profile information.Eugene JenkinsJenkins is the former chief of police for the city of Marthasville. He is now self-employed.“I have served the citizens of Marthasville for the last 15 years as the chief law enforcement officer. Now it is time to serve them as an alderman for the Southwestward,” said Jenkins.Jenkins is a volunteer with the Marthasville Fire Department and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, United Service Origination, National Rifle Association of America, Marine Corps Association and Missouri Police Chief’s Association.He has not previously held elected office.He lives in Marthasville with his wife, Ann Jenkins.
