James Finley, 44, of Wright City, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography in Warren County on Aug. 20.
Finley, a former fifth-grade teacher in the Parkway School District, was charged following an investigation from the St. Louis County Police Department. According to a representative from the Parkway School District, Finley stopped working for the district at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Detective Michael McDonald, the investigation was started by a CyberTipline report received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating uploads of child sex abuse material.
McDonald reported the uploads occurred at an elementary school in the Parkway School District in St. Louis County.
According to the probable cause statement, Finley admitted to having an addiction to the images as the search warrant was executed.
A warrant has been served for Finley’s arrest and he is to be held without bond.
