Former employee allegedly stole data from Innsbrook Resort

A Chesterfield woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly stealing data from Innsbrook Resort while working there.

Andrea G. Lieberman was charged Thursday, Sept. 3, in Warren County Circuit Court with felony stealing and misdemeanor tampering with computer data. The charges stem from events shortly before Lieberman left the resort earlier this year to work at REMAX Results.

On Jan. 11, Lieberman allegedly transferred nine separate Excel spreadsheets containing 2,278 line items of personal information from a secure server at the resort to her personal Gmail account, then to a third party’s Gmail account.

On Feb. 21, “Lieberman sent an email to Innsbrook in response to a Cease and Desist,” according to a probable cause statement. “Lieberman stated the following within her email: ‘I downloaded a database from KEAP of all the property owners at Innsbrook. Look at it, I did it prior to leaving.’”

The statement notes that, first in 2008 and again in 2015, Lieberman signed an Innsbrook Resort employee handbook that states: “It should be noted that all offices, desks, files, lockers and so forth are the property of Innsbrook and are issued for the use of associates only during their employment with Innsbrook.”

No defense attorney for Lieberman was listed in online court records as of Friday. A call to Innsbrook Resort seeking comment on the case was not immediately returned.

An initial video appearance for Lieberman, born in 1970, has been scheduled for Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. in Warren County Circuit Court.
