Food and Wine fest coming to Truesdale

Deerfield’s on Main and Papu’s Cuban Cafe are hosting their first annual Food and Wine Festival in Truesdale at Bruer Park, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24.

The event will have fun family activities. Papu’s will host its first ever Cuban sandwich contest (see how many Cubans you can eat), and Deerfield’s On Main will host grape stomping!

The event will also have a cupcake contest (bring your best cup cakes).

The event will also have inflatables for kids provided by Love Out Loud.

Live music will be provided by Calvert and Williams from 1-4 p.m.

Other events:

Noon: Contest for the Cutest & Ugly Dog (Picture & Certificate to the Winner)

12:30: Halloween Costume (Prize to Be Announced)

1:30: Cup Cake Contest (Winner gets $50 gift card to Papu’s Cuban Cafe). Bring in your own cup cake.

11-1:30: Grape Stomping Event (Come Stomp some Grapes with your Family)

2:00: Papu’s Cuban Cafe will announce its first annual plaque for the Most Outstanding Citizen Award! Four people from Wright City, Truesdale and Warrenton will be recognised.

4:00: Cuban Sandwich Eating Contest. Winner Gets Picture Taken to hang at Papu’s Cuban Cafe, along with $100 and a plaque. The winners are:

Mark Hale ­— H & H Guns

Ramiz Hakim — Alderman for Wright City

Josh Poore — Liberty in Warren County

Kevin Swofford — Officer for the Warrenton Police Department
