Five people were charged with burglary in the second degree and stealing $25,000 or more from a victim on hospice following an incident between February 1 and March 2, 2025.
According to an affidavit filed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy made contact with the reporting party who said that the victim, his father, is currently on hospice and that unknown individuals entered his residence and took several items including a Honda 250 SX three-wheeler, Honda 110 three-wheeler, Husqvarna zero turn lawn mower and chainsaw, Craftsman chainsaw, smoker, log splitter, small trampoline, black powder pistol, Moultrie game camera, collectible pocket knives, coins and other lawn equipment estimated to be worth $455,600.
According to the affidavit, on March 12 deputies identified John Neubauer of Wright City as a suspect as he had a three-wheeler and log splitter at his property and admitted to being at the property. On March 14 deputies identified Misty Alvis of Wright City as a suspect. During an interview with Alvis she said Neubauer, Dara Lander of Foley, Travis McNatt of Warrenton and Lance Pepper of O’Fallon were involved in taking items from the property.
Five no bond warrants were issued for each of the suspects on Oct. 29.
