First Peers to Treloar party set for October 23

The first Peers to Treloar Party will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Peers Store, 19 Concord Hill Road in Peers.Peers is located about four miles west of Marthasville on Highway 94.The event celebrates the release of the new book: “Growing Up with the River: Nine Generations on the Missouri.”“Growing Up with the River” takes a brief look at each of nine generations of families that have grown up in nine different communities since Lewis and Clark’s epic Voyage of Discovery.It’s about conservation and history along the Missouri River. The book is written by Dan and Connie Burkhardt and illustrated by Bryan Haynes.Michael Bauermeister and Gloria Attoun, who perform in the bands Augusta Bottoms Consort and The Texas Giants, will share songs on the front porch of The Peers Store during the party.Peers Store is an art and gift gallery located on the Katy Trail.Just 3.5 miles up the trail, in Treloar, more events will be happening, such as a honeysuckle hike, food and more.For more information on the book and the event: www.magnificentmissouri.com.For more information about the music, www.gloriaattoun.com.
