The Warrenton Fire Protection District will host a public town hall meeting July 16 outside the fire station in Pendleton to discuss a proposed sales tax.
The fire district is proposing a half-cent sales tax to help meet operating costs that are outpacing other tax income, according to district officials.
Members of the public will be able to meet and ask questions of fire officials outside the fire station on Highway B in Pendleton beginning at 6 p.m. July 16. The town hall is being hosted outside to allow for adequate social distancing.
In case of inclement weather, the town hall will be moved inside the engine bay.
