Fire destroys home Tuesday morning in Wright City

A fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning left a Wright City home as a complete loss, officials said.The report of a fire at the 29000 block of North Stringtown Road came just before 5 a.m.Wright City Assistant Fire Chief Josh Riebe said the house was 80 percent involved when responders arrived.“The wind was making the fire a lot more severe,” he said. “We were mainly concerned with protecting the (property) next door.”Riebe said the damage was so extensive firefighters were unable to determine the origin of the blaze. No one was living in the home prior to the fire, he said.Warrenton, Lincoln County and Wentzville fire departments also responded to the fire, with additional aid from members of other area departments.
