Jonesburg Assistant Fire Chief Freddy McClure described a fire that destroyed a Jonesburg home Monday as “suspicious.”The fire occurred around 3:45 p.m. at 313 Shelton Drive.McClure said the fire apparently started in the kitchen then quickly spread through the ceiling through the rest of the ranch home.Firefighters from Jonesburg and Warrenton fire protection districts had the fire under control in less than an hour. The electric had been previously disconnected from the home, McClure said, and no one was at the residence at the time of the fire. The home was deemed to be a total loss.McClure said this is the second fire at that address. The house burned 10 years ago, but was repaired.“An icebox caused that fire,” he said.
