Candidate filing for the April municipal election began Tuesday with some new faces emerging and familiar ones seeking new positions. The filing deadline is Jan. 17, 2012. The election will be held April 3, 2012. In Warrenton, current Ward 3 Alderman Don Broering has filed for mayor. He is currently finishing out his first term as alderman. The board member Broering replaced, Jim Dreyer, is looking to make a return to the board. Jim Dreyer is a candidate for Ward 3 alderman. Newcomer Josh Pellerito also has filed for Ward 1 alderman. No one had filed for Ward 2 alderman by press time. The term for all three positions is two years. Wright City Mayor David Heiliger filed to run for a second-two-year, while Ward 1 Alderman Jim Schuchmann is seeking to be re-elected. A race has emerged in Ward 2 where incumbent Angie Reynolds will be opposed by Corri Ruge, who also is currently serving on the Wright City R-II School Board. Meanwhile, no one has yet to file for vacancies in Truesdale and Marthasville. Two aldermen seats are up for grabs in both cities. The incumbents in Truesdale are Shalene Blackwood and Rhonda Colombo, while Jim Struckhoff and Leo Tobben represent the East and West wards, respectively, in Marthasville. Three candidates - Bill Hawley, John Clinger and John Bradshaw - have filed so far for two seats on the Warren County R-III School Board. Hawley is the lone incumbent. The term length is three years. In the Wright City R-II School District, incumbent Alice Klem was the lone candidate to file for one of two positions. Each seat is for three years. Listed below is an update on the filing status for other governmental entities in the county. Warren County Ambulance District Board of Directors - Gary Miller, Subdistrict 2; and Robert Linke, Subdistrict 5.
