Record Managing EditorThe ballot is set for the April 7 municipal election after several individuals declared their candidacy in the final week of the filing period.The filing deadline was Tuesday, Jan. 20.In Warrenton, all four positions that are on the ballot will be contested. There will be a three-way race for mayor as current Aldermen Eric Schleuter and John Clark vie for the position along with Wayne J. Smith.In Ward 1, Kyle Bradbury will oppose incumbent Karen Casserly, while incumbent Gary Auch will be challenged by Lloyd Wideman and Scott Schulze. Three candidates are running for the Ward 3 seat currently held by Clark. They are Don Broering, Bob Delaloye and Kellen Dreyer.Marthasville will have a contested race for mayor. Former Mayor David Lange filed on the final day and will face current Mayor Jason Schantz.Both aldermen positions in Marthasville are uncontested as the only candidates to file were incumbents John Graham and Mike Kloeppel who represent the East Ward and West Ward, respectively.In Wright City, the lone race will be for Ward 2 alderman. Kay Janish has filed in the past week and will face incumbent Jim Toothman. Ward 1 Alderman Dan Rowden is running unopposed.No races will be contested in Truesdale or the Village of Innsbrook. The lone candidates to file are Truesdale Mayor Murray Bruer and Aldermen Donald McGee and Stanley Brookshier, while the three candidates in Innsbrook are incumbents Jeff Thomsen, Jerry Rust and Trish Dunn.For the Warren County R-III School Board, a third candidate, Lucy Click, has filed. She will oppose incumbents John Clinger and John Bradshaw for two openings on the board.There are only two candidates for two seats on the Wright City R-II School Board. They are David Mikus and Erin Williams.Other candidates for uncontested races are:Warrenton Fire Protection District (two, six-year terms) — Amy Ellard and William Abel.Warren County Ambulance District (two, three-year terms) — William Ehlenbeck, Subdistrict 2; and Robert Linke. Subdistrict 5.Marthasville Community Ambulance District (two, three-year terms) — Dave Chisholm, Subdistrict 2; and Arlie Berg, Subdistrict 5.Polls open 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
